CBD Oil

Cannabidiol (CBD) is a type of cannabinoid, a chemical found naturally in cannabis (marijuana and hemp) plants. Unlike THC, CBD doesn’t cause any psychoactive effects (aka “getting high”) that you may find with cannabis. Cannabis plants contain various types of beneficial compounds: cannabinoids (100+), terpenes (150+), flavonoids (20+) etc.

CBD Isolate: This compound is 99.9% CBD. It is so refined that it often looks like crystals or salt.

Broad Spectrum CBD: Contains a range of naturally occurring compounds from the cannabis plant, but typically no THC.

Full Spectrum CBD: Full-spectrum CBD includes small amounts of all these compounds including THC.

It does also help with the following:

Benefits

Anxiety & Depression

Full spectrum CBD can have a relaxing effect on the brain. This happens because the CBD interacts with the system in your body called the endocannabinoid system (this is the system of the body that seems to regulate many functions in the body, including learning and memory, mood and anxiety, drug addiction, feeding behavior, perception, modulation of pain and cardiovascular functions).

CBD can regulate the stress response and help reduce feelings of panic and fear.

Pain Relief

Everyone has a cell-signaling system known as the endocannabinoid system (ECS). Some researchers think that CBD interacts with a core component of the ECS — endocannabinoid receptors in your brain and immune system.

CBD is a natural way to combat acute and chronic pain. This is because it acts as an anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and analgesic.

Skin Care & Acne

Taking CBD to assist with skin problems and acne is a natural option that more and more people are opting to take.

Acne is caused by pores that are clogged with dry skin, and excess sebum is produced. This forms a hard plug in the follicle. If a bacteria gets trapped inside the follicle it will cause redness and swelling – the start of acne.

By applying a CBD cream, or mixing CBD oil with a carrier oil such as coconut, you can apply this directly to the affected area.

The CBD significantly reduces the release of sebum by your skin’s sebaceous glands, and in addition, because CBD contains antioxidants, it can also help your skin to heal itself.

Pets

Because CBD is a natural product, it can be used in and on your pets, however, you should not give your pets any products containing THC. There are a variety of CBD products available for pets: CBD oil, CBD biscuits, CBD pastilles, and CBD sprays.

The benefits of CBD, to pets, include the following:

  • Anxiety and stress
  • Digestive problems
  • Seizures
  • Pain
  • Inflammation
  • Arthritis and joint pain

Weight Loss

When taken, CBD interacts with the endocannabinoid system and stimulates completely different elements in your body to break the white (bad) fat down into brown (good) fat which may help the body burn calories.

In addition, it also decreases lipid manufacturing, reduces appetite, and increases metabolism.

Insomnia

Insomnia, restless nights and even nighttime awakenings can occur for a variety of reasons such as your hormone levels, stress, anxiety, and pain. Studies show that CBD is helping people to fall asleep and to stay asleep.

One suggestion is that CBD affects the release of cortisol. Cortisol is the hormone that stimulates wakefulness in the morning and keeps you alert during the day, and then its levels naturally drop later in the evening so that you can fall asleep.

Of course, if you are not sleeping because of pain or anxiety-related issues, CBD will assist to remedy this as well by targeting these issues.
